Ernest Llewellyn Hampshire (1882-1944) - Hampshire was an accomplished landscape painter, etcher and qualified architect born in East Dulwich, London. He studied art at Clapham School of Art, architecture at the Architectural Association and etching at the Central School of Arts and Crafts and at The Heatherley School of Fine Art. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. He was married to miniature portrait painter Maria Eaton. A lifelong Londoner, he died in Wanstead, in 1944.
