'L’Arc Rouge’ by George Barbier (1882 - 1932)
‘One day, when I was bored, I took a big red bow for fun…’
An original hand coloured and plate signed pochoir printed for
'Modes et Manieres d' Aujourd'hui'
Published 1914
'Modes et Manieres' was one of the most exclusive lifestyle publications to emerge from Paris and was current between 1912 to 1922.
Limited to an edition size of only 300 thus making it extremely rare and highly collectable today.
The edition was entirely illustrated by Barbier and served as a preview of his Art Deco masterworks chronicling the 1920's Parisian creed of 'good times, beautiful people, erotic dalliance and the exotic lifestyle'.
