London’s sole surviving timber-framed Jacobean townhouse, Inner Temple Gateway was originally part of the great 12th century estate of the Knights Templar and subsequently owned by the order of the Knights Hospitallers. Throughout its history, the building has seen many uses - being variously a tavern, a waxworks and more recently, home to members of the legal profession.
